  • PTSD and trauma-related symptoms

  • Psychosis and psychotic disorders

Additional concerns are evaluated individually to determine whether Alqimind is the appropriate setting for care.

What ages do you treat?

Alqimind evaluates children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, generally beginning at age 5.

Treatment suitability is determined individually. A parent or legal guardian must participate in the evaluation and treatment of minors as clinically and legally appropriate.

How does the appointment process work?
  1. Request an appointment through our online scheduling page.

  2. Complete the required registration, consent, and intake forms.

  3. Attend your telehealth evaluation while physically located in Florida.

  4. Review your clinical impressions, treatment options, and personalized follow-up plan.

Do you provide psychotherapy?

Supportive psychotherapy may be incorporated into psychiatric treatment when appropriate. Dedicated individual psychotherapy with an Alqimind therapist is not currently available.

Alqimind plans to expand its psychotherapy services as qualified therapists join the clinical team.

Telehealth Care
Are appointments virtual or in person?

Alqimind currently provides scheduled outpatient psychiatric care through telehealth only. In-person appointments are not available at this time.

Where can I attend my telehealth appointment?

You may attend from home or another private, safe, and appropriate location with a reliable internet connection.

Patients must be physically located in Florida during each appointment. Your current physical location may be confirmed at the beginning of the visit.

Please do not attend an appointment while driving.

What happens if I will be outside Florida?

Contact the practice before your appointment. Psychiatric care generally cannot be provided when a patient is physically located in a jurisdiction where the provider is not authorized to practice.

Your appointment may need to be rescheduled until you are physically located in Florida.

What technology do I need?

You will need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with:

  • A reliable internet connection

  • A functioning camera and microphone

  • Access to the telehealth link provided for your appointment

  • A private location suitable for discussing personal health information

Insurance & Payment
Which insurance plans do you accept?

Albert Garcia participates with multiple insurance plans through Grow Therapy and Headway. Depending on the platform and specific insurance product, participating plans may include:

  • Aetna

  • AvMed

  • Cigna and Evernorth

  • Oscar

  • Oxford

  • UnitedHealthcare and Optum

  • Surest

  • Participating Blue Cross Blue Shield plans

  • Other affiliated or employer-sponsored plans

Insurance participation does not guarantee coverage for a particular service. Networks, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and benefits vary by plan.

Please verify your eligibility and estimated cost through the applicable scheduling platform before your appointment.

What are the self-pay rates?

Current self-pay rates are:

  • Initial psychiatric evaluation: $250 for 60 minutes

  • Psychiatric follow-up: $150 for 30 minutes

These prices apply to appointments booked directly as self-pay services. Insurance-negotiated rates and patient cost-sharing may differ.

Will I receive a cost estimate before treatment?

Yes. Patients will receive an estimated cost before treatment whenever possible.

Your final financial responsibility may depend on your insurance benefits, deductible, copayment, coinsurance, and the information supplied by your insurance plan. Self-pay patients will be informed of the applicable rate before the appointment.

Prescriptions & Communication
How are prescription refills handled?

Prescription renewals, medication changes, and new prescriptions require an appropriate scheduled appointment. Please schedule before running out of medication.

Prescriptions are not automatically renewed through email, text message, a pharmacy request, or the website contact form. Controlled medications are subject to additional prescribing, monitoring, and follow-up requirements.

Can my medication be changed through a message?

Medication changes generally require a scheduled appointment so your symptoms, response, side effects, safety, and treatment options can be appropriately evaluated.

Messages may be used to communicate concerns, but they do not replace a clinical evaluation.

How should I contact the practice?

The website form, telephone, and email may be used for scheduling and general administrative questions.

Please do not submit sensitive medical information through the general website form. Clinical concerns should be communicated through the secure patient portal or discussed during an appointment.

Messages are reviewed during regular business hours and are not monitored continuously.

What should I do if I have an urgent concern?

For a time-sensitive but non-emergency concern, contact the practice during regular business hours. Your concern will be reviewed, and an appointment or other appropriate response may be recommended.

Alqimind does not provide emergency services, immediate crisis response, or after-hours urgent care.

If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911, go to the nearest emergency department, or call or text 988 for immediate crisis support.
